One that definitely coulda, shoulda been a contender for the 90's list. Pure Indie Americana that's rarely been matched.

Meta thread moment.

Preview of this weekend, with a shout (back) to the poster who very first recommended this guy, at the time it first came out. I went on to find his debut album and its a family favourite, with the boy occasionally playing a track, too.

One last one.

I saw Underworld live at Lakota in Bristol around the time this was released - between their first and second albums, and before Trainspotting. The gig was pure freeform techno, with barely a recognisable tune therein, but it was one of the most magical live experiences I've had.

I really like Rio's devotion to The Wildhearts. I've never heard them, and I'm not sure I've ever heard anyone else talk about them, but I like it when people have a lifelong relationship with an artist that isn't necessarily wildly popular. I think my equivalent is Throwing Muses.

Saw them live once many years ago, I think they were supporting Krokus at the Astoria.

I know some may find me biased and at times sad in my adulation, but I wouldn’t do it unless I genuinely meant it, I have high standards musically.

From the first moment I heard them, the craftsmanship in delivering a mix of soaring riffs, catchy choruses, whilst initially were delivered with a punch, but developed into various styles over the years, was nothing short of breathtaking.

I introduced them, to friends, who have never wavered in their appreciation of bringing them into their lives.

I truly believe front man, Ginger is truly the best songwriter of his generation. The sheer volume of work he’s produced in his solo work, side projects, in varying styles, maintains such high quality is nothing short of breathtaking.

The ability of The Wildhearts themselves to continually snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, implode, split etc. is a story in itself.

The Wildhearts & Gingers solo work, have defined and at times, saved my life.

And still none of you f@#kers give them a listen

I've just listened to 'I Wanna Go Where The People Go' on Spotify.

I knew nothing about the band, and they're really not my thing, but I too admire your devotion to them.

Their Spotify biog makes them sound like a proper rock n roll band and I love it when musicians plough on doing what they love regardless of record sales. All power to Ginger.

Late subs from bunk mean

1. Radiohead stretch their lead at the top and
2. KLF nestle amongst the joint 4th category.

Are we doing 00's now? Are there rules on how many albums from the same singer I can list? Is 3 too many? I haven't discovered many new bands or albums from this point onwards and largely continued listening to older stuff.
