Re: Desert Island Albums: Chapters 1-6: Collections
Will be a bit of a struggle for me because I don't buy any new music, unless it's by a special select group of bands who I've stuck with since I got into them. Only the most important bands to me get a look in, I'm a bit stuck in my ways see.
It's only in the last few years I've got into certain bands from the 80's and 90's and then gone out and bought their back catalogues, I'm normally a few decades behind the times

How about tribute acts? I'd vote for Elton Jack ("Australia's greatest Elton John tribute") simply for his name:

Ok, so, given that there was barely any repeat shouts in collections, there's little point in doing a round up.

JUANA MOLINA - Halo
MOMUS - Scobberlotchers

Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti - Before Today (2010)
Burial - Kindred (2012)
Pye Corner Audio - Sleep Games (2012)
Tame Impala - Currents (2015)
William Basinski - On Time Out Of Time (2019)
Deepchord's Live In Detroit [Ghost In The Sound] would have been on the list, but was thrown in with the mixes.

Carpenter Brut - Trilogy (2015)
GosT - Possessor (2018)
Perturbator - The Uncanny Valley (2016)
Sky Ferreira - Night Time, My Time (2013)
Hank Williams III - Ghost to a Ghost/Gutter Town (2011)
Just missing the cut this time went the soundtrack for Drive (Refn, 2011); more synthwave loveliness from Carpenter Brut (Leather Teeth) and Perturbator (Dangerous Days), but also from Dan Terminus (The Wrath of Code) and Mega Drive (199XAD); The earthy goodness of The White Buffalo (Love and the Death of Damnation) and Robert Plant (Lullaby and... The Ceaseless Roar); The four-on-the-floor blues-rock of Rival Sons (Great Western Valkyrie) and ZZ Top (La Futura); And the pure, unadulterated horror of Possessed (Revelations of Oblivion) and Napalm Death (Apex Predator - Easy Meat).

Re: Desert Island Albums: Chapters 1-7: 2010s
Think this is where my tastes detached from the present and started working backwards in time. Of those listed to date I reckon I've heard of no more than 10 of the bands/artists and think I've heard songs from at least 2 of those. I don't own any of the albums listed yet...I'll get my slippers.
Anywho, a quick scan of my collection gives me these earthy beauties:
Butterfly House by The Coral (2010)
Every Kingdom by Ben Howard (2011)
Wrecking Ball by Bruce Springsteen (2012)
Big Bad Luv by John Moreland (2017)
To The Islands by The Magic Lantern (2018)
Close but no cigar to You Want It Darker by Leonard Cohen, Western Stars by Bruce Springsteen, The Weatherman by Gregory Alan Isakov and Tooth & Nail by Billy Bragg.

Re: Desert Island Albums: Chapters 1-7: 2010s
With the advent of streaming, I probably started to listen to more tracks rather than albums during this decade and also there were a few albums that haven’t stood the test of time.
However, these are probably my ones to chose from the teenz
FFS - FFS
A wonderful Sparks and Franz Ferdinand collaboration.
GORILLAZ - PLASTIC BEACH
COURTNEY BARNETT - SOMETIMES I SIT AND THINK …
MOONLANDINGZ - MOONLANDINGZ
A brilliant album from a bizarre band
DAVID BOWIE - BLACKSTAR
