Re: Their best tune..16 March - The Folk Down Under
Two Aussie acts stand out for me;-
Nick Cave - too many top tunes of his to pick from but oddly, it was this one that got me listening to him more … plus it has the added Aussie bonus of Kylie!!
Courtney Barnett - love her lyrics and tunes. This song title could describe us this season!!

Re: Their best tune..16 March - The Folk Down Under
This is one of my favourite songs ever, so a bit of a no brainer;
These guys released my album of the year last year, and this whole record is incredible;
And lastly we have Stefan Dennis - the man Jason Donovan could have been;

And now what was the best toon from North Of The Border
A band so influential, the ex-Scottish First Minister still has a Bay City Roller drummer's haircut

Re: Their best tune..17 March - The Folk North Of The Border
Arguably my favourite band of the last 15 years. Disbanded a few years ago in tragic circumstances after lead singer Scott Hutchison, having foreboded his intentions in the song 'Floating in the Forth', carried out his suicide almost to the exact word as it was written in the song 10 years later.
There are some honorable mentions though.
The Jocks have an absolutely monstrous catalogue of artists. Who knew that a culture predicated on drink and drugs would produce so much good music
