Vladimir Putin can help here.YorksHammer wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2023 8:52 am I don't know what territories of control actually means, but it seems notable that we are massively in control on the left and not the right.

Careful, I'm not sure that's allowedLondon Fields Hammer wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2023 10:30 am Worth noting how ineffective Saka was. Everyone focused on the penalty miss, but Cresswell must have done a good job because he didn't get much of a look in at all.

Should have been a yellow thoughEl brooko79 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2023 8:02 am If a pen is given, its only a red if there is no intention to play the ball.
Clumsy tackle- pen, no red
Push/pull back - pen and red
Where a player commits an offence against an opponent within their own penalty area which denies an opponent an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick, the offender is cautioned if the offence was an attempt to play the ball; in all other circumstances (e.g. holding, pulling, pushing, no possibility to play the ball etc.) the offending player must be sent off.
I can't for the life of me see where Paqueta wouldn't have had the opportunity to have a shot if he wasn't fouled

tbf i think Holding would have got the ball if Gabrial hadn't fouled Paquetta
Re: West Ham United v Arsenal match thread
You’re probably right, I’d had a long day!
Was actually quite interesting to see how much Jesus was dragged over to almost left back to help stop Bowen - yet he still had a great second half despite all the attention.
Bowen has quietly been very effective in the last couple of months. Not back at England call up form but involved in a lot of what we do well going forward.

Arsenal have been a feeder club for us in the past with Robson,Brady,Hartston and WrightBilly Bonds boots wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2023 8:26 am Read yesterday that rice was in the tunnel getting a signed shirt of olegard, surely it shouid have been the other way round, also spotted they were having a chat at one of the corners probly arguing who was gonna be captain next year. Just wish this club had real ambition to lose talent like rice is a tragedy and I think we will always be a feeder club which saddens me.

Will we be getting an Opposition View for this game?

Re: West Ham United v Arsenal match thread
Im sure its already been mentioned but f*** me what a difference we as supporters can make to the teams performance, - and our opponents. Theres been a lot of recent critisim of the teams apathy (and mostly justified) but when we rock that bowl it makes one helluva difference - and has already been mentioned by several players. I loved my day out in the sun yesterday - was a real galvanising experience. Chicken and egg and all that but we seriously can make a difference.. Now lets go and scare the living bejusus outta Gent and those scouse twats under lights...

One of the best Mondays since long time
I hope they will finish the season exactly two points below the title

Re: West Ham United v Arsenal match thread
We got Upson from Birmingham didn't we?
I saw a claim yesterday that Arsenal have never bought a player from us, that can't be true?

Yes, Suker was the one I was thinking of (he didn't exactly set the world alight).
