They can say this is a Mickey Mouse cup, but if we win it I'll have one for a week :rofl:

Is this change of fortune for the club in any way related to Arthur Masuaku permanently signing for Besiktas? :chin:

Messi-esqe.

I was screaming at Antonio to find a pocket of space for him to roll it into but he didn't. The finish and the run were sublime :heartshaped;

Tbf to Antonio, his run drags defenders away and gives Rice the space to do what he did.

Yeah it was a good run from Antonio.

I still don’t think he’s got the same speed and acceleration that he used to have but he looked much more like his usual self last night. Went from wearing trampoline boots early on to making himself a nuisance and getting on the scoresheet.

The way he held the defender off for the first was reminiscent of him holding off the likes of Kane and Laporte to score in previous seasons.

Apart from the one whos Roger the Relegator esqe back peddling as Rice turned him inside out?

In fact now talking about ol' Rog! Negredo did the extact same thing to him 😂

Rice's goal, well the reaction to it was one to take the roof off.

When I watched the replay of it, there was no way the defender was getting at it. He tried pushing and climbing but Antonio was an immovable object

As others have said, last night was like watching Brazil.

Although, in the sense of a dystopian nightmare created by Terry Gilliam, the rest of the season has been too.

I still think the Gent player is inside the shop asking for a packet of Nurofen, 20 B&H and whether the newsagent has seen Declan Rice at all...

I find it a little bit disrespectful to not stick around to applaud the players in return for their efforts - especially on nights like this. I mean darting straight off at the whistle, that is.

I heard this morning that the Gent fans phone torch display was in memory of one of theirs who died? Feel a bit bad now for joining in the piss taking each time we scored :horror:

Doylaz wrote: Fri Apr 21, 2023 8:38 am Have to disagree with this re support. It was a brilliant night and yes the atmosphere was great once we got going. But the team was winning 4-1 in a European Quarter Final and around 30,000 people left on the 80 minute mark. That doesn’t strike me as great supporters that were there last night. The team deserve our support right to the end after putting in a performance like that. Who knows when we’ll ever be in the same position again.
I stayed to full time and wish I hadn't :crylol: Road closures meant I arrived home in Suffolk at 1.45am, did walk through the door with a huge grin on my face though

Maybe just my perception bit there seemed to be much more unity in the team, they actually looked as though they like each other, which has kind of been missing.
