A giant hammer like some of the 1923 crowd had would be good.

Re: Proposed fanzone for ECL final
The mayor of Newham and the council couldn’t give a f*** about West Ham or indeed football for that matter.hammerman11 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2023 10:14 am The club do little for the away fans during the season; no coaches laid on as other clubs do. with regards to the final there should have been something done by the club and newham council for the fans
two more leeches left to leave the club.
Re: Proposed fanzone for ECL final
I'm 4-3 all on finals and a draw, WBA was 2 legs (5-3 if I count Metz)
Won
1964 PNE1965 TSV 1975 F &1980 A
Lost
1965 WBA 1981 L & 2006 L
This is the only one I won't be at so far

Re: Proposed fanzone for ECL final
I'm not sure why hammerman11 is so desperate for the club to have done something.
Overcharge us to be located in some shitty over policed, overcrowded area to sell us piss posing as beer and overcharged for that as well.
Much better to sink money into local businesses and boozers that are designed for such events rather than some makeshift toss served up by the club.

I passed that place the other day at work, never even it was even there. See the posters outside for the game. Looks a cracking little boozer tbh . As someone who is still a Newham resident, it’s quite refreshing to see an old school looking pub about

Re: Proposed fanzone for ECL final
It's disappointing that our mayor can't value the social significance of the club, particularly before one of its historic days. She is always first to expose any kind of flag important to her echo chamber outside the town hall, but to make a gesture towards an institution important to tens of thousands of Newham people? Naaaah, not "progressive" at all!Patsy Belgium wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2023 5:25 pm The mayor of Newham and the council couldn’t give a f*** about West Ham or indeed football for that matter.

Re: Proposed fanzone for ECL final
Doesn’t Newham take over control of the stadium soon?
What could go wrong….?
Baffles me that they’ve got a huge screen attached to the ground and a great big park yet they can’t even create a fan park

Forest Gate Hotel is a very poor pub unless you want to buy drugs off a load of posturing yoot looking for a rowMullins>Mascherano wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2023 5:46 pm I passed that place the other day at work, never even it was even there. The Rookwood Village will be showing it, as they have BT Sport, and if you want a bit more old skool, rough and ready then the Fox and Hounds near the station will be lively as always plenty of West Ham in there - plus it is cheap as chips

Re: Proposed fanzone for ECL final
I assume because the club have no control over the Olympic Park and because it is residential any type of event in the park itself woiod be an absolute logistical nightmare to organise in terms of finding a space, fencing it off, getting access in and out, licensing etc. There are hardly any empty bits of land knocking about in the Olympic park at the moment. They do have music festivals now and again in the park but they are organised months and months in advance and are Sqturdqy or Sunday afternoon/ evening and not a Wednesdqy night at 8pmDoc H Ball wrote: ↑Sat Jun 03, 2023 7:45 pm Doesn’t Newham take over control of the stadium soon?

Re: Proposed fanzone for ECL final
Eldest Grandson found it: beat Bolton 1-0. 42,000 Attended. Our first Wembley win (having lost in 1923…against Bolton).
Never gets mentioned, but my old man banged on about it when I was growing up in the 50s.

Always thought Wikipedia was rubbish, or was it my old man talking rubbish?
Probably both!
