Re: ACF Fiorentina
And Viola have dropped off their press a bit as a result. They haven't responded well to the 2 quick goals.

I've got it on Hulu (CBS Sports Network) here in the US.

There is a huge amount of space being left in the areas that Bowen and Benrahma would normally run into, and the midfield looks bare when they over-commit. Bit Bielsa like.
Biggest risks on this showing would be trying to play the ball short into Soucek anywhere inside our own third because they will press.

Re: ACF Fiorentina
They look a mess defensively. Line all over the place and so open.
Can't imagine they play this open against us if this goes the way it's looking like it will so far.
Castrovili and Bonaventura both playing in cm is not enough steel.

Re: ACF Fiorentina
Can't defend their second goal. Reminds me of a bloke who recently signed for City. Or Leeds' first goal

Re: ACF Fiorentina
Fiorentina's defence doesn't look all that good from that 1st half display. Ragged and slack to get through for chances. Attack them and I'm confident we'll be alright against them. They will always be a danger up is **** hotfront though, so more than 1 or 2 goals may have to do it.
Martinez is shithot mind. So clinical and deadly in the box.

Re: ACF Fiorentina
The good news from what I’ve seen so far is I absolutely believe we can score against them, if we are on our game.
The bad news is I can’t see our defence keeping them out. I don’t know how the likes of Aguerd will cope with their pressing, with some of the cheap goals he’s given away when passing it out from the back.
The way they play I can 100% see Moyes using the same tactics he used at Lyon and Alkmaar away, when we sit deep and try and hit them on the counter.
Our attacking players really need to deliver on the day. No bottling big chances, powerderpuff shots, or bad decision making. We have to be ruthless in front of goal.
I still agree with my post the other day too about there being a possible weakness for us to exploit when it comes to their marking on set pieces. Get the ball into the box right, with Antonio and co. standing on top of their keeper, and Soucek and the centre halves can make them sweat.

Re: ACF Fiorentina
In the 3 games I’ve taken notice of, they have thrown away leads in 2 of them. Is this a pattern in their season?

Re: ACF Fiorentina
Didn't see it, not have I seen them play, but if that's how they press we probably won't play out from the back, at least not too elaborately. It'll be low block, counter attack. Not exactly Nostradamus to point that out.funky chicken wrote: ↑Wed May 24, 2023 9:12 pm The good news from what I’ve seen so far is I absolutely believe we can score against them, if we are on our game.

Re: ACF Fiorentina
CBS announcers can get stuffed. 'Both sides facing English opponents in their finals, Man City and West Ham. Just a slight difference in quality between those, he, he, he.'

Re: ACF Fiorentina
Inter don't look all that secure at the back either. Both sides are disorganized at the back. Seems like Fiorentina are playing fairly narrow going forward in this game. They keep slicing Inter right up the gut. Over to you Declan.

Re: ACF Fiorentina
Anyone else getting nervous for the final whilst watching this?
Both teams to score for us seems nailed on.
