Schofield and ITV
We have to be legally careful on this story, but ITV has a huge problem on its hands.

There is a lot of firefighting going on methinks. This latest admission, is something that was common knowledge for a long time, and I've heard it spun a lot worse than just what has been laid out. Younger is a very broad term when you are 61.
Were people like Eamonn and Ruth forced off the show over this matter?
How much did ITV know? This lad worked on multiple shows with Schofield.
Why has Holly only now decided to distance herself from him?
Going to get messy for ITV.

Re: Schofield and ITV
Agreed. And given that Schofield's TV persona was built on his wholesome niceness and blandness, you would think that's his career over and done with too.

Yeah, I thought there was more to this story. I think it's career over for him.

From what I understand, allegedly a lot more.bonzosbeard wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 9:56 am Yeah, I thought there was more to this story. I think it's career over for him.
Given what happened at the Beeb in the past, I'm amazed at ITV if true.

Re: Schofield and ITV
The story that he had a "young family friend" working at ITV years ago has been about for years.
Re: Schofield and ITV
Scum, all the ones that could take a stand at ITV should be ashamed of themselves, they basically knew he was grooming a minor, made a shock of him coming out as gay when it was known for years, Holly is just as bad as him, she went on holiday with him lots of times, there is photos of him, Holly and the "kid, they all knew and were complicit.

As I’ve said in another topic we’ve discussed what you see over the years in the press is not always the truth or the full story

Re: Schofield and ITV
I think he assumed that by coming out, any impropriety with younger men would have been swept under the carpet, and it looked as though it did for a few years (I bet Covid was a blessing in disguise for him). ITV will be having some uncomfortable conversations in the coming days and weeks.

I don't understand what he's done to cause him to lose his job. Had a legal, consensual affair? Morally dubious maybe, but I don't see why it's any concern of his employer.
Can anyone enlighten me?

Re: Schofield and ITV
Obviously I cannot say much - but let's just say what's been put out thus far isn't the entire story. Yes, it was a legal, consensual affair at the time it came to light in to the public domain.southbrishammer wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 3:56 pm I don't understand what he's done to cause him to lose his job. What is it about all these white, male, TV presenters that makes so many of them sexual predators? What do they all have in common? Why isn't Yaxley Lennon and the like banging down the doors of all the other male TV presenters and demanding they provide some answers?

What? Who said he was a ‘sexual predator’? Steady on now.Hammer1966 wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 4:43 pm What is it about all these white, male, TV presenters that makes so many of them sexual predators? Secondly, it’s certainly not just ‘white, male, TV presenters’ that are sexual predators from what I can ascertain from the news of the last 20 years!

Re: Schofield and ITV
Aha , I think I've just spotted a clue .
After wondering and worrying for days why Phil and Holly were no longer friends I think I may have guessed at what may have caused the rift .
After all there's a 30 year difference between Stephen Fry and his partner and no one's talking about him [ well , other than myself just now of course ] and there was something like a 25 year difference between Barbara Windsor and her partner , and there was Prince Charles and Diana , so it's not the age difference then ?
It's that last sentence isn't it ?
I always knew I could have been a Detective .

Unless he convinced her the young bloke was a mate and he wasn't bumming him? Then that means she's telling the truth.

If you are 55 and with a 30 year old, its not really an issue is it? Both very much adults. The Old Man of Storr wrote: ↑Sat May 27, 2023 5:26 pm After all there's a 30 year difference between Stephen Fry and his partner and no one's talking about him [ well , other than myself just now of course ] and there was something like a 25 year difference between Barbara Windsor and her partner , and there was Prince Charles and Diana , so it's not the age difference then ?
