Ronaldo was poor, has lost his pace. Martinez bottled it in not taking him off.

The two deserve each other and to be dumped out.

The free kick on the right side of the area summed it up. Let me be the hero and not put it across the face of goal and make it a team game,

Ronaldo has been a hinderance to Portugal this tournament.

There’s been so many chances that in past tournaments he buries. This miss tonight, from 6 yards?

That said, the French look very ordinary. Their main tactic seems to be, pass to Mbappe and hope he scores.

I’d fancy England even how they’ve played so far to best them.

If the French can knock out Spain... and we actually start playing somewhat alright...who knows.

Tbf, his movement leading up to that miss was unreal. I’d love to see Kane show half the desire to lose his man. Ronaldo possibly could have done better with the finish but it was actually a poor ball to him, as it was behind him.

That being said, he has clearly declined and wasn’t adding much to that Portugal team and his insistence on wasting all their free kicks makes him look foolish. I think the Portuguese teams problems run far deeper than Ronaldo though. Their build up play is far too slow and reminded me of England’s at times.

Des Champs is seriously boring
No wonder the French fans want him out.
I maintain with the players they have had in past 12 years they shoild have done better than one tournament win.
I think they will win this tournament but imagine what a more attacking manager could do with the players France have

'La chatte à Dédé'. Literally Dédé's pussy (luck). This is proverbial, I think there i even a chant about it.

I really dislike Deschamps for many reasons. The main one would be that he was involved, as a player, in many scandals (corruption and doping both at Marseille and Juventus). He shouldn't be anywhere close to official functions at the FFF, according to me.

But he's somehow the ultimate winner, the symbol of the mutation of the French football from the beautiful losers to the cynical winners (France 1998 was a pure product of the Italian Serie A). And as a manager, he is both conservative and boring, and yet it somehow produces good results. But people are really fed up with this outdated football.
