Who else can we play in midfield as long as no new additions is made? I don’t really want to throw Potts and Orford under the bus against a side of this quality in that type of position.

Paqueta has had more than enough chances.

Wasn’t impressed with Hermansen, but I feel like we have to stick with him for now to get him less rusty as he hasn’t had a proper pre-season and we’ll shatter his confidence if we drop him immediately. Plus, if we want Potterball to succeed you need the key ingredients. At least until 1-2 games after the international break.

Dinos and Soucek so we have some feckers in the side who’ll actually head the ball away at the back.

Wilson in to replace Fullkrug.

Mavropanos in for one of the centre halves - whoever Potter and the analysis deem most culpable, probably Aguerd.

Guido likely to be sold so we may need to replace him with Soucek.

Diouf look a bit raw so KWB a likely option at left wing back.

Big decision on the goalkeeper too - if he dropped Areola for pre-season form then there is a strong argument that Mads now loses his place after that “underwhelming” debut.

What’s crazy is we might not have the capability to play a back 5.

I say ‘might’ because there’s a small chance they would be alright if they didn’t have the midfield in front of them that they do.

But realistically it doesn’t matter what midfield you have if your defenders can’t head the ball and are soft.
