Re: January 2026 Transfer Thread
Adama Traore and Ruben Neves are two players I expect us to target. Both Nuno favourites, with 6 months left on their contract. Neves is also a Mendes client.
But the greatest need, of course, is at CB and striker.
With Macaulay gone and Hahn seemingly going, our already tiny transfer committee looks virtually non-existent. Think we might have one more data guy - Dylan something? But ultimately unless we bring someone else in, it looks like signings will be entirely at the whim of Sullivan and Nuno.

Re: January 2026 Transfer Thread
I suspect there is less money available than what is needed to upgrade this squad to a reasonable level but surely the priorities must be a decent main striker, at least one, but preferably two, strong central defenders, a competent defensive midfielder, and someone with a bit of imagination and creativity to provide the strike force with ammunition.
So only around £120 million give or take.
The loan market it is then.

Re: January 2026 Transfer Thread
The obvious, and lazy suggestion, would be Chris Wood.
34 in December. Will fit very nicely with our 33 year old German and 34 year old substitute.

Re: January 2026 Transfer Thread
Chris Woods would be the sort of short term fix nonsense that I would fully expect Sullivan to be interested in. Might score a few goals to help keep us up, but he won’t be cheap, and he wouldn’t come here unless it was decent money and a 2-3 year contract. We’d end up with yet another old striker, whose legs have gone.
DJU is who we need. DJU. 9 goals and 3 assists in 10 matches for Meteorland and not 22 until June.

If woods turns up it’ll be because Nuno wants him hereSullySpecial wrote: ↑Thu Oct 09, 2025 2:39 pm Chris Woods would be the sort of short term fix nonsense that I would fully expect Sullivan to be interested in. Re: January 2026 Transfer Thread
Early days but at the moment I’m trying to work out whether or not I give a damn about what happens this window.
It’s the crushing inevitability that whatever happens won’t be good enough and won’t prevent us being in exactly the same position a window or two down the road.
Maybe when we get new owners I can get excited again.

A strong gobby centre half, who is a leader.
A striker that can run and hit the net.

Killman is a good player he just needs a no nonsense player next to him
Maigure
Prime zouma
Dawson when we signed him
Those 3 commanders of the box would form an excellent partnership with kilman
