He's got most of the Olympic boxers, including highly rated Ben Whittaker - who is managed by Anthony Joshua but trained by Fury's trainer, SugarHill Steward.

He's also signed up with Sky Sports now that Eddie has taken Matchroom to DAZN so has a big platform. Bloke's only 28 so fair play to him.

I remember when Frank Warren was the new kid on the scene ruffling the feathers of the British old school promoters. Then Barry Hearn came along with Bruno v Bugner & now HIS son is being challenged by some young upstart.

By the way, here's a little video of Ben Whittaker. He's from the same town as West Ham legend SAM ALLARDYCE  His fighting style is little similar to a young Tyson Fury. Very herky jerky, lots of angles & footwork. Will be interesting to see how SugarHill changes his style. Look at the transformation Fury has had since moving with him.

I also like what Ben Shalom is doing. Seems to be building a decent stable.

Just needs to get in a few headliners, which I’m sure will come with time.

I've had many many chats online with Denzel over the last few years. Very nice bloke. I'm well chuffed for him.

I'm hoping he can crack on from here. He's not world class but that doesn't mean he can't have a great career.

What is world class nowadays anyway with so many belts about. The ****ing WBA has about 5 belts in each division anyway.

Jermell Charlo stopped Brian Castano in the 10th round of their rematch for the undisputed Light Middleweight title tonight in a cracking battle,

Joins Canelo & Josh Taylor as the only 4 belt unified Champions.

Although, Taylor is about to get stripped of his WBA title for not defending against his mandatory.

Does anyone remember the heavyweight contender from the 90's & early 2000's named Clifford Etienne?

He'd gone to jail for armed robbery aged 18, learnt how to box & when released ten years later became a contender, eventually fighting Mike Tyson (loss in 49 seconds).

Then, on a coke binge, he robbed a shop, car jacked a mum & her kids then threatened to shoot a cop. He's now serving 105 years with no chance of parole.

Anyway, he now paints all day - when he's not working as a prison barber - and his work is really good. Weird but good. Here's a couple of links in case anyone is interested in this kind of stuff.

Basildon Boy Danny Dignum fights for the interim WBO Middleweight title in Vegas this weekend against former amateur standout Zhanibek Alimkhanuly of Kazakhstan.

Dignum, whose last bout was at York Hall is 14(8)-0-1 but hasn't really fought anyone that decent yet. His draw was against Andrey Sirotkin who was 19-1 at the time with his loss coming against John The Gorilla Ryder. That's by far & away his toughest opponent.

Alimkanuly won gold medals at various amateur world championships & is 11(7)-0 as a pro. He's stopped two ex WBA champs in his last two bouts although both only held the title briefly beating Japanese fighter Ryoto Murata.

"Qazaq Style" is a massive favourite & if he wins I don't know if he'll want a bout with his fellow countryman GGG.

If Dignum wins he's proclaimed himself THE KING OF POUND LANE :smiler:

Zhanibek will likely be a tough ask for Danny.

A very schooled fighter, with alot of accolades, and from that neck of the woods they do everything from the fundamentals to the tricky nuances of the sport extremely well.

Potentially cracking fight at the O2 this Saturday between 2 South London boys, Joshua Buatsi of Croydon against Craig 'Spider' Richards of Crystal Palace.

Buatsi got a Bronze in Rio & has been heavily marketed by Matchroom for 5 years whereas Richards came through without any big backing.

When this fight was made Buatsi was a big favourite but Richards performed well against Bivol last year & since Bivol's masterclass against Canelo people are now taking more notice of Spider's record. His only other loss was a fight he took on one weeks notice against the fan favourite Frank Buglioni. He also stopped the heavily back Shakan Pitters.

Buatsi tends to load up a bit too much so if he does that we could see Richards build up a lead with his boxing skills. Whether Buatsi can catch up with him down the stretch we shall see. It could be another Bivol v Canelo scenario or we might see a Canelo v Kovalev type deal.

Not a big fan of Buatsi. Freakish build but clumsy and predictable. Got a feeling Richards might upset him.

Interesting fight.

It does feel similar to the Bivol Canelo bout. The 'boxer' builds up a lead by halfway but will the 'puncher' catch up with him later on?

Ouch, that was painful to watch.

Dignum tried but it was domestic level v World class. Zhanibek Alimkhanuly looked the dogs b*llocks & finished him with a murderous uppercut in the 2nd.

Little more than a sparring session for Qazaq Style. Fair play to Danny for having a go though.

In addition to him & GGG, Kazakhstan also has another great prospect at Middleweight in Meiirim Nursultanov who is 16(9)-0.

There's some good fighters at 160. We'll see if they meet though. Manchester boy Jimmy Kelly in a few weeks.

Ellie Scotney, from Catford, has some great skills and fantastic footwork. The new generation of female boxers has really come on in leaps and bounds.

Compare her fight from last night against Maria Roman with Aussie girl Ebanie Bridges from a couple of months ago. Scotney only been a pro for 18 months.
