Happy birthday to one of the UK's most exciting fighters, and Ilford Boy, Nigel Benn. 59 years young today.

'When I look back over my life, I feel proud at what I've done, and now I feel so lucky to be surrounded by the people that I love. I don't miss the fight game, because my life is as full now as it has ever been, but not a day goes by that I don't think about it, relive my victories, consider the highs and lows of my turbulent career. I've come a long way since I was a kid on the streets of Ilford.'

I saw Benn fight several times, first on the undercard of a Terry Marsh fight, when Marsh won the title. Went to a few of his title fights then the Eubank rematch at Old Trafford. Loved both of them. Was a brilliant time to be a boxing fan.

I watched it last night. Probably the first time I've seen a bout since the majority of it went behind a paywall.
Meh.

Anyone give Anthony Yarde a chance next week against Beterbiev?

I will be ecstatic if he wins but can't really see a strategic way for him to win. Beterbiev isn't just a massive puncher, he's also a smart boxer.

Yarde just has to try to catch him early (Callum Johnson dropped Beterbiev) & jump all over him. All or nothing.

Have to agree. One thing on Yarde's side is age. Beterbiev is 38 now, although showed no signs in slowing down as of yet

Anthony Yarde takes a reporter back to where he grew up in Stratford.

Anyone know this estate?

His comments on Eubank Jr that he’d have done him in 2 rounds at 160?

That’s the thing about taking PEDs , they make you more powerful 😂

Shameless **** seems to have forgotten why their fight was cancelled

This bit.
Anyone with an ounce of shame would be piping the f**k down until they know if they've still got a career.

It's being reported that Chris Eubank Jr's team are going to appeal the fight because Eubank was hit with a stray elbow early in the 4th.

Karol Itauma just got stopped in a little upset by Argie journeyman Ezequiel Osvaldo Maderna.

Something didn't look quite right for the Chatham boy but he was beaten by the better man on the night.

His little (massive) brother turns pro next so we'll see if he has a better night. Moses Itauma is saying he wants to beat Mike Tysons record as youngest heavyweight champ.
