West Ham went goal crazy in their opening fixture of their Australian tour by smashing SIX past hosts Perty Glory at the Optus Stadium.

With the likes of Lucas Paqueta, Maxwel Cornet and Nayef Aguerd absent having been granted an extended mid-season break, it was a young-looking Hammers XI that began the game.

Yet it didn't take long for the reduced-capacity Hammers to take the lead. With the likes of Levi Laing, Luizao, Dan Chesters and Freddie Potts on the field, the Irons earned themselves an early lead when Lachman turned the ball into his own net after just two minutes.

It was a lead that was to be doubled on the 20-minute mark when Luca Scamacca fired home from the penalty spot, before the hosts halved the deficit with their first goal of the day via an Luizao own goal.

West Ham's third - and probably the pick of the goals - came 11 minutes after the restart, when half time substitute Jarrod Bowen found the net with a clever flick on the outside of his right foot. The hero of Prague then turned provider as his perfectly delivered cross was nodded home with venom by Emerson.

It was 4-2 on 72 minutes when Bennie slid the ball beyond an advancing Joseph Anang, who had replaced Lukasz Fabianski at the interval, but the Hammers restored their three goal advantage eight minutes from time when Divin Mubama connected with a Dan Chesters cross, burying his header deep in the roof of the net.

Still not done, the Hammers fired home a sixth and final goal through Bowen who doubled his talley for the night with just four minutes of normal time remaining.

Next up for the Hammers are Tottenham, who they face in the same stadium on Tuesday.
