Having jumped at the chance to team up with Sam Allardyce once again - the third time the duo have worked together following spells at Bolton and Newcastle - the Senegalese dender, who can also play in midfield joined West Ham in the summer of 2011 following the culmination of his three-year contract at Stoke.

Cardiff City

2-0: Thursday, 3rd May

Did not play.

Reading

2-4: Saturday, 31st March

Given a hard time by Foy who offered little protection from Robertsí elbows. If his first touch had been better his leg wouldnít have been out there for Hunt to fall over.

Leeds United

1-1: Saturday, 17th March

Solid as a rock. Won everything in the air and the Leeds frontmen couldnít find a way past him. MOTM.

Doncaster Rovers

1-1: Saturday, 10th March

By and large he had an ok game but he really should have done a bit more to close down Diouf for their goal.

Doncaster Rovers

1-1: Saturday, 10th March

Solid enough, but yet again the defence leaked an unnecessary goal.

Watford

1-1: Wednesday, 7th March

Coped ably with what little Watford threw in his direction; some suggestion that it was his unfortunate deflection that led to the Hornets goal.

Cardiff City

2-0: Sunday, 4th March

Outstanding. If he missed anything I can't remember it. Superb.

Crystal Palace

0-0: Saturday, 25th February

Had to deal with our opponents almost single handed in the middle until Reid turned up. Some fine defending, though Iíll admit to having slight panic attacks when he elects to play the ball out of a tricky spot rather than lamping it one.

Blackpool

4-1: Wednesday, 22nd February

Another sound defensive display before going off injured midway into the second half. Hopefully the injury isnít bad as he and Reid our building a good understanding at the back.

Southampton

1-1: Tuesday, 14th February

Very good, especially after being on a booking for the entire second half. Loses nothing in the air and a leader at the back.

Millwall

2-1: Saturday, 4th February

Immense throughout barring the one mistake that led to the Millwall equaliser. Won everything in the air and would have been my MOTM but for the error. Good to see heís a more than able replacement for Reid and Tomkins.

Nottingham Forest

Portsmouth

1-0: Saturday, 14th January

Burnley

1-2: Saturday, 3rd December

Put in some really important challenges and made some vital tackles. But was he at fault for either goal?

Derby County

3-1: Saturday, 26th November

An unheralded player he was nevertheless quite superb today. Won the ball, controlled it, laid it off.

Coventry City

2-1: Saturday, 19th November

A good game despite the usually illegal attentions of Jukiewicz.

Hull City

2-0: Saturday, 5th November

Superb. Powerful in the air and got in a number of vital blocks. Just shaded for my MOTM by Green but it was damned close.

Crystal Palace

2-2: Saturday, 1st October

Generally solid though at both goals he was guilty of not getting close enough to his man.

Ipswich Town

0-1: Tuesday, 27th September

Ok defensively but we need better distribution from him.

Peterborough

1-0: Saturday, 24th September

A most promising full home debut. The veteran centre-half barely put a foot wrong and kept it simple throughout. Will be challenging Tomkins and Reid for a starting berth at this rate.

Portsmouth

4-3: Saturday, 10th September

Did not play.

Nottingham Forest

4-1: Sunday, 28th August

(Replaced Collison, 75) Introduced when the score was 3-1 to protect the lead, he was solid as a rock.

Watford

4-0: Tuesday, 16th August

(Replaced Tomkins, 68 mins) Looked solid, if not a little heavy. Runs and stands as though his knees are going to shatter at any minute. I was half tempted to give him a 10, just for that one tackle alone!

Doncaster Rovers

1-0: Saturday, 13th August

Did not play.
