Stoke City

1-2: Sunday, 15th May

Do we have to have an MOTM this week? He was probably the least worse I suppose.

Swansea City

1-4: Saturday, 7th May

(Replaced Antonio) That he's played more as a winger than full back this month says mcuh about Bilic's view of his defensive capabilities.

West Bromwich Albion

1-1: Saturday, 30th April

Do we have to have an MOTM this week? He was probably the least worse I suppose.

Watford

3-1: Wednesday, 20th April

Do we have to have an MOTM this week? He was probably the least worse I suppose.

Leicester City

2-2: Sunday, 17th April

Defensively ok but too often in the second half when we needed him to be force going forwards the attack would break down from a lack of guile on his part.

Everton

3-2: Saturday, 5th March

Decent game including one clever run into space that might have ended better had he been able to dig the ball out of his feet a little better.

Tottenham Hotspur

1-0: Wednesday, 2nd March

Pretty woeful. Responsible for at least one goal.

Sunderland

1-0: Saturday, 27th February

Another so so game. There were spells when he looked great, others when he seemed to lack concentration.

Blackburn Rovers

5-1: Sunday, 21st February

Another so so game. There were spells when he looked great, others when he seemed to lack concentration.

Norwich City

2-2: Saturday, 13th February

Another so so game. There were spells when he looked great, others when he seemed to lack concentration.

Manchester City

2-2: Saturday, 23rd January

I wouldn’t have wanted to have been in the Jenkinson household when he got home to be asked “how’d it go dear?”

Newcastle United

1-2: Saturday, 16th January

(Replaced Ogbonna) Much better – not given much of a test defensively admittedly but wasn’t afraid to get forward when the occasion demanded.

AFC Bournemouth

3-1: Tuesday, 12th January

(Replaced Tomkins) His introduction changed the game - and his quick-thinking in the corner directly led to Valencia's first goal.

Southampton

2-1: Sunday, 27th December

Looked exactly what he was in the first half: a right sided defender asked to play on the left. His lack of a left foot was a problem in the first 45. Wisely switched to his more familiar right-back role by Bilic after the interval he seemed infinitely more comfortable in the second half.

Aston Villa

1-1: Saturday, 26th December

(Replaced Tomkins) Dropped in favour of a centre half in recent weeks due to his defensive frailties. A decent run out, all things considered.

Swansea City

0-0: Sunday, 20th December

(Replaced Antonio) That he's played more as a winger than full back this month says mcuh about Bilic's view of his defensive capabilities.

Stoke City

0-0: Saturday, 12th December

West Bromwich Albion

1-1: Sunday, 29th November

Do we have to have an MOTM this week? He was probably the least worse I suppose.

Tottenham Hotspur

1-4: Sunday, 22nd November

Pretty woeful. Responsible for at least one goal.

Everton

1-1: Saturday, 7th November

Decent game including one clever run into space that might have ended better had he been able to dig the ball out of his feet a little better.

Watford

0-2: Saturday, 31st October

Do we have to have an MOTM this week? He was probably the least worse I suppose.

Chelsea

2-1: Saturday, 24th October

Continues to improve after a shaky start to the season.

Crystal Palace

3-1: Saturday, 17th October

The finish for the goal was better than one might have expected from a right back. A bit unlucky with the penalty.

Sunderland

2-2: Saturday, 3rd October

Another so so game. There were spells when he looked great, others when he seemed to lack concentration.

Norwich City

2-2: Saturday, 26th September

Another so so game. There were spells when he looked great, others when he seemed to lack concentration.

Newcastle United

2-0: Monday, 14th September

(Replaced Ogbonna) Much better – not given much of a test defensively admittedly but wasn’t afraid to get forward when the occasion demanded.

AFC Bournemouth

3-4: Saturday, 22nd August

The last time I saw a full-back have a day this bad I was playing against him and I profited greatly from the fact that his hangover was worse than mine. Let’s hope that it’s out of his system as well – he’ll have some time off to recuperate thanks to the red card.

Leicester City

1-2: Saturday, 15th August

Defensively ok but too often in the second half when we needed him to be force going forwards the attack would break down from a lack of guile on his part.

Birkirkara

1-0: Thursday, 16th July

FC Lusitanos

3-0: Thursday, 2nd July

Had a lot of defending to do today, which he did well enough. That limited his chances to go forwards, though.

Newcastle United

0-2: Sunday, 24th May

Had a lot of defending to do today, which he did well enough. That limited his chances to go forwards, though.

Everton

1-2: Saturday, 16th May

Had a lot of defending to do today, which he did well enough. That limited his chances to go forwards, though.

Aston Villa

0-1: Saturday, 9th May

A decent individual performance in a woeful team one.

Burnley

1-0: Saturday, 2nd May

Mostly out-shone by Cresswell this season, but not today. A good game, and plenty of opportunity to get forward.

Burnley

1-0: Saturday, 2nd May

Got forward well on numerous occasions.

Queens Park Rangers

0-0: Saturday, 25th April

Another good defensive display.

Manchester City

0-2: Sunday, 19th April

Had a lot of defending to do today, which he did well enough. That limited his chances to go forwards, though.

Stoke City

1-1: Saturday, 11th April

Alert when he needed to be, but didn't have a huge amount to actually do, and could do nothing more than he did the 4 times he was beaten.

Leicester City

1-2: Saturday, 4th April

Gave away the penalty, but that was about the only thing he did wrong.

Sunderland

1-0: Saturday, 21st March

Solid and unremarkable.

Chelsea

0-1: Wednesday, 4th March

Crystal Palace

1-3: Saturday, 28th February

Didn't do badly, but as with all of the defence, not supported well enough by the midfield.

Tottenham Hotspur

2-2: Sunday, 22nd February

Had a lot of defending to do today, which he did well enough. That limited his chances to go forwards, though.

West Bromwich Albion

0-4: Saturday, 14th February

One of our better players on the day, which is not saying much.

Southampton

0-0: Wednesday, 11th February

Manchester United

1-1: Sunday, 8th February

His erroneous header may have led to Man Utd's goal (albeit he was pushed by Fellaini), but We look a better side when he's in it. Welcome back, Jenko.

Liverpool

0-2: Saturday, 31st January

With a three-pronged attack for much of the game Jenks was rarely afforded license to roam with defensive duties at the forefront. There, he was solid enough.

Bristol City

1-0: Sunday, 25th January

With a three-pronged attack for much of the game Jenks was rarely afforded license to roam with defensive duties at the forefront. There, he was solid enough.

Hull City

3-0: Sunday, 18th January

Good enough, but no more.

Hull City

3-0: Sunday, 18th January

Pretty similar to Cresswell, really.

Hull City

3-0: Sunday, 18th January

Given license to roam, especially in the second half. Minor concerns over his defensive awareness remain.

Everton

2-2: Tuesday, 13th January

Dangerous in both directions even though, like everyone else on the pitch, he struggled to get passes and crosses through well-organised defences.

Everton

2-2: Tuesday, 13th January

Once again demonstrating that he's perhaps more effective going foward than defending - should have done better for EVerton's second.

Swansea

1-1: Saturday, 10th January

Sound defensively and stretched Swansea with a number of lung-bursting runs on the right wing. Denied his first Hammers goal by a great save from Fabianski at the death. Man of the Match.

Swansea

1-1: Saturday, 10th January

Fantastic display, constant energy and great crossing aswell as defensive solidity.

Everton

1-1: Tuesday, 6th January

Had a good game in both directions, defensive and attacking today.

Everton

1-1: Tuesday, 6th January

Very energetic, got forward well although failed to pump in the usual quota of crosses from the right, mainly because his side was targeted by Everton for much of the game.

West Bromwich Albion

1-1: Thursday, 1st January

Back in the starting line-up, Jenks was efficent defensively but provided little in attack, having been effectively nullified by Albion's game plan.

Chelsea

0-2: Friday, 26th December

Sometimes good in defence, sometimes not good. Not much cop at passing the ball.

Leicester City

2-0: Saturday, 20th December

Got forward as often as possible and could (should?) have scored with one of his two chances in the opening quarter-of-an-hour. defensively sound, for the most.

Sunderland

1-1: Saturday, 13th December

Man of the Match. Need I say more?

Sunderland

1-1: Saturday, 13th December

Got forward as often as possible and could (should?) have scored with one of his two chances in the opening quarter-of-an-hour. defensively sound, for the most.

Swansea

3-1: Sunday, 7th December

At fault for the Swansea goal, terrific cross for the equaliser; pretty much sums up his day.

Swansea

3-1: Sunday, 7th December

Another strong performance and his cross for Carroll's first was ecellent. Hopefully his hamstring isn't too serious.

West Bromwich Albion

2-1: Tuesday, 2nd December

A good learning experience, I hope. Struggled all game to cope with Sessegnon, Berahino, and Varela, gave away free kicks and the ball, wasteful going forwards.

West Bromwich Albion

2-1: Tuesday, 2nd December

Had a difficult night and was often left chasing shadows, particularly in the first half.

Newcastle United

1-0: Saturday, 29th November

Busy on the right, and better than against Everton, though not quite worth a 7.

Newcastle United

1-0: Saturday, 29th November

Not as much of a force going forward as he can be but a good solid defensive outing.

Everton

1-2: Saturday, 22nd November

It's a very borderline 6 / 7. Defended well, and pressed forward well. The majority of attacks were up the right, but his delivery was nothing like as good as it might have been. A shame - we might well have won, otherwise!

Aston Villa

0-0: Saturday, 8th November

Solid defensively, tried to get forward when he could. As for that header? Well, he's not a centre forward, after all!

Aston Villa

0-0: Saturday, 8th November

Not quite up to his recent standards – he delayed his crossing too many times enabling defenders to get back at him. Ought to have done better with the free header as well.

Manchester City

2-1: Saturday, 25th October

Tidy and solid in the face of one of the stiffest tests he will face this season.

Manchester City

2-1: Saturday, 25th October

Another superb game. Every now and then you read of someone anonymously returning a library book ten years after they borrowed it with a wad of notes for the fine. Couldn't we do the same with him – I'm sure Arsenal won't notice.

Burnley

3-1: Saturday, 18th October

Wasn't tested to the same degree that AC was, but wasn't as good going forwards either.

Burnley

3-1: Saturday, 18th October

Had a fine game defensively and got forward to good effect well – particularly for Valencia's goal.

Queens Park Rangers

2-0: Sunday, 5th October

Solid in defence, solid in attack. Difficult to decide who was the more effective of Jenks and Cressie, but I think I'd just give the plaudits to Jenks.

Queens Park Rangers

2-0: Sunday, 5th October

The lack of attacking threat from the opposition enabled him to get forward almost at will.

Liverpool

3-1: Saturday, 20th September

(Replaced Demel) More of a defensive role than that of Demel who he replaced. Acquitted himself well.

Liverpool

3-1: Saturday, 20th September

(Replaced Demel) Did OK for his half-hour, although picked up an unnecessary booking. I suspect he will be starting in a game or two, when Sam thinks he's fully fit.

Hull City

2-2: Monday, 15th September

(Replaced Demel) Made his debut, didn't make any mistakes, will no doubt be starting games quite soon...
