Waltham Forest-born Conor Coventry is one of West Ham's home grown youngsters, having initially joined the club at the age of just ten years old.

He signed his first professional contract in May 2017 before making his first team debut in an 8-0 Carabao Cup win over Macclesfield in September 2018.

The midfielder is one of the club's most highly-rated Academy players and has already been included by current manager Manuel Pellegrini in his Carabao Cup squads for the 2019/20 campaign, featuring in the second round against Newport County.

In January 2020 he joined Lincoln City on loan for the remainder of the 2019/20 campaign.

In August 2021 he joined Championship side Peterborough on a season-long loan after West Ham agreed to sign Alex Kral.

He returned to West Ham in January 2021 after the loan deal was cut short due to a lack of playing time, but secured a move to MK Dons for the remainder of the 2021/22 campaign.

Coventry changed his squad number from #54 to #32 ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Coventry joined Rotherham on a half-season loan in January 2023, on the same day as West Ham exercised an option to extend his contract by 12 months.

(Replaced Benrahma 68) Just played very simple passes and kept it ticking over.

vs Viborg FF

3-1: Thursday, 18th August
(Played 84 minutes)

Held the midfield, sitting deeper, similar to how Rice played against Forest. Rather ruffled, keeping things ticking over, but was even quieter when Fornals came on and was dropping deep to try and start attacks.

(Replaced Lanzini, 66) As things stand he's first choice back up to Declan Rice - so it's key he's given minutes with the first team. Fairly quiet in this one but industrious as always.
