Having seen moves to Stuttgart and stoke fall through as a result of failed medicals Ba looked set to remain in Germany until the Hammers took a calculated gamble in offering the Senegalese international a permanenet contract.

Blackburn Rovers

1-1: Saturday, 7th May

Missed a pretty easy free header. Not much else to report.

Chelsea

0-3: Saturday, 23rd April

Made chances, created chances, and was a handful all day.

Manchester City

1-2: Saturday, 23rd April

He caused problems for their defenders and showed good desire for his goal. I would play him in the middle for the Blackburn game. Was not as effective on the left.

Aston Villa

1-2: Saturday, 16th April

(Replaced O'Neil, 62 mins) Didn’t really get into the game. Maybe if he’d had a bit more time perhaps?

Bolton Wanderers

0-3: Saturday, 9th April

Improved in the second half and made chances. Passed poorly, and lacked control in the first.

Manchester United

2-4: Saturday, 2nd April

Comments to follow.

Tottenham Hotspur

0-0: Saturday, 19th March

Not as involved as Cole but always looked dangerous when things came his way.

Stoke City

3-0: Saturday, 5th March

Another excellent run out and did well to pick up the goal. Not bad for someone unfit for Premier League football.

Liverpool

3-1: Sunday, 27th February

The leggy one always looked dangerous and took his goal really well.

Burnley

5-1: Monday, 21st February

Comments to follow.

West Bromwich Albion

3-3: Saturday, 12th February

Outstanding full debut. Two goals, one off the post and one cleared off the line - what more can you ask from a striker.

Birmingham City

0-1: Sunday, 6th February

(Replaced Keane, 75 mins) A couple of good touches and was unlucky not to score. Not quite up to pace yet I'd say.

Blackpool

3-1: Wednesday, 2nd February
