Diego Tristan finally signed a permanent deal with the hammers having spent several weeks on trial in order to prove he still has what it takes to succeed at the highest level.

A player with Champions League and international experience, Tristan had been without a club since being released by Italian Serie B outfit Liverno at the end of the 07/08 season.

Middlesbrough

2-1: Sunday, 24th May

(Replaced Cole, 63 mins) Possibly his last game in claret & blue. I’d like to think that with our connections we could find better as back-up for the first choice strikers.

Liverpool

0-3: Saturday, 9th May

The better of our two strikers on the day. Still poor.

Stoke City

1-0: Saturday, 2nd May

Fine goal and, for once, he held the ball up well. Still almost totally lacking in pace though and probably should have had a second.

Chelsea

0-1: Saturday, 25th April

A couple of nice touches but in all honesty Schnorbitz’s good days are long behind him. If we see him on the team sheet next season something is seriously wrong.

Sunderland

2-0: Saturday, 4th April

Probably his best game for us, for what it’s worth. Still lacks pace and a desire to work is sometimes conspicuous by its absence. An improvement, nevertheless.

Blackburn Rovers

1-1: Saturday, 21st March

Schnorbitz has been making noises about extending his stay at the Boleyn. Not on this form I’m afraid.

West Bromwich Albion

0-0: Monday, 16th March

Bolton Wanderers

1-2: Saturday, 21st February

Did not play.

Middlesbrough

1-1: Saturday, 14th February

(Replaced Cole, 34 mins) He rarely beat the Middlesbrough central defenders in the air and his first touch is lamentable. He is a ponderous runner with the ball and panics when in sight of the goal.

Middlesbrough

1-1: Saturday, 14th February

(Replaced Cole, 34 mins) At least DiMichele tried to get the ball back once in a while. Seemed disinterested in getting involved with anything that required movement.

(Replaced Behrami, 87 mins) No comments.

Stoke City

2-1: Sunday, 28th December

(replaced Collison, 77) So he does exist! The goal was streaky but they all count.
