vs Ipswich Town
3-1: Sunday, 25th May(Played 10 minutes, sub)
(Ward-Prowse 80') A good finish to a bad season for Guido, who still looks a little too slow, but flew forward to get an assist late on.
vs Nottingham Forest
1-2: Sunday, 18th May(Played 59 minutes)
Had no real influence on the game and maybe should have been quicker to Areola's pass that Elanga took.
vs Manchester United
2-0: Sunday, 11th May(Played 90 minutes)
Didn't start well, with some iffy moments on the ball, but he grew into it and ended up a secure deeper option. Played off some of the rust, it will be interesting to see if the manager gives him more time as the season ends.
vs Aston Villa
1-1: Saturday, 25th January(Kudus 90+) No time to make an impact.
vs Fulham
3-2: Tuesday, 14th January(Played 81 minutes)
One of his better games since joining West Ham in the summer. One of several who seem much more at home under Potter already.
vs Southampton
1-0: Thursday, 26th December(Played 67 minutes)
Four months after arriving in England on a free transfer it's still difficult to ascertain exactly what he brings to the party. The red card for an innocuous tackle was a travesty, though - thankfully VAR showed rookie referee Smith the errors of his ways.
vs Wolverhampton Wanderers
2-1: Saturday, 7th December(Played 2 minutes, sub)
(Kudus 88') A silly challenge gave away a dangerous freekick.
vs Arsenal
2-5: Saturday, 30th November(Paqueta 78) Not challenged or notable.
vs Newcastle United
2-0: Saturday, 23rd November(Soler, 84) Came into a pretty dead game and the midfield lost nothing as he slotted in easily.
vs Everton
0-0: Saturday, 9th November(Played 66 minutes)
With the full backs a little less ambitious, and Soucek functioning in there, Rodriguez wasn't at his busiest, but held his space and, as he often does, maintained the right positions.
vs Manchester United
2-1: Saturday, 26th October(Played 90 minutes)
The odd sloppy moment aside, his positioning is generally good, even if he?EUR(TM)s often being asked to do far too much.
vs Tottenham Hotspur
1-4: Saturday, 19th October(Played 71 minutes)
Because he started so well, the second half and the huge gaps are harder to judge. Is he too slow for a stretched Premier League game? He didn't look it when covering the right gaps in the first half.
vs Ipswich Town
4-1: Saturday, 5th October(Played 90 minutes)
Calm, simple, controlled. Phillips tries too much, Rodriguez keeps it quiet.
vs Brentford
1-1: Saturday, 28th September(Played 90 minutes)
Slower than you'd like at times, but his positioning is good, and he's comfortable doing the ugly stuff.
vs Liverpool
1-5: Wednesday, 25th September(Played 30 minutes, sub)
vs Fulham
1-1: Saturday, 14th September(Played 70 minutes)
Did a good job at that efficient holding role off the ball, but couldn't offer enough on it.
vs Manchester City
1-3: Saturday, 31st August(Played 90 minutes)
Much more understated role compared to Alvarez, and they also have very different play styles. The dynamic, physical and somewhat dramatic play of the Mexican is contrasted with the quiet and efficient movement of Guido, who is more about positioning and simplicity.
vs AFC Bournemouth
1-0: Wednesday, 28th August(Played 30 minutes, sub)
(Replaced Alvarez, 60) Quietly slipped in and protected the defence.
vs Crystal Palace
2-0: Saturday, 24th August(Played 90 minutes)
Doing that holding role like you want it to be done, which is generally in an understated and efficient way. Looked more up to speed this time out, and made a lot of good interventions in midfield and in front of the defence to stop things progressing. Comfortable on the ball and made enough of an impact with it that Palace changed their approach to sit Mateta on the Argentine, which then removed pressure on the centre backs in possession.
vs Aston Villa
1-2: Saturday, 17th August(Played 90 minutes)
Maybe a touch slow, but not massively slow considering this is not just his first game of the season and in a new country, but one without much preseason before it. Cleaned up nicely in some parts, clearly knows the role and what the manager wants from him on the ball.
