Sunderland

0-0: Saturday, 14th December

Man of the match - kept us in the game.

Sunderland

0-0: Saturday, 14th December

Made a number of decent saves and was probably more deserving of the MOTM than sponsors' pick Diame.

Liverpool

1-4: Saturday, 7th December

Little he could do about any of the goals.

Crystal Palace

0-1: Tuesday, 3rd December

Excellent saves kept us in the game - but should have come for Chamakh's goal.

Crystal Palace

0-1: Tuesday, 3rd December

A couple of times he went walkabout. A couple of times he brilliant saves in one-on-one situations. The best of a bad bunch.

Chelsea

0-3: Saturday, 23rd November

Made some decent saves. I suppose if he'd stayed on his feet we'd just have seen Oscar booked as he ought to have been anyway but it's a bit harsh to blame him for a rather tawdry bit of cheating by an opponent.

Chelsea

0-3: Saturday, 23rd November

Doesn’t like coming out to crosses.

Norwich City

1-3: Saturday, 9th November

Gave Norwich a way back into the game when they couldn't find one - and it's never good to see a 'keeper left flatfooted on a free kick.

Aston Villa

0-0: Saturday, 2nd November

Who would have thought that one of our best recent signings would have been the Bolton reserve keeper? As consistently excellent as he’s been all season, and kept his concentration to save smartly on the rare occasion he was called upon, which is all you can ask from a keeper really.

Aston Villa

0-0: Saturday, 2nd November

Largely unemployed he was required on three occasions and was not found wanting.

Aston Villa

0-0: Saturday, 2nd November

Some fine stops.

Tottenham Hotspur

3-0: Sunday, 6th October

Did all he needed to do.

Hull City

0-1: Saturday, 28th September

Went wrong way for penalty. Otherwise solid.

Everton

2-3: Saturday, 21st September

Fine. Couldn’t do much about the goals.

Everton

2-3: Saturday, 21st September

I don't think he had much chance with any of the goals. Only ha two other saves to make which he dealt with well.

Southampton

0-0: Saturday, 14th September

Outstanding; he kept us in the game.

Newcastle United

0-0: Saturday, 24th August

Not a lot to do today, kicking could still be better.

Cardiff City

2-0: Saturday, 17th August

The new goalkeeper’s kit’s a bit bright isn’t it. “Tonight Matthew, I’m going to be a traffic cone”. Barely tested at all during this one – I’m struggling to think of one save worthy of the name.

Wigan Athletic

2-0: Saturday, 20th April

Two superb saves and a few more that were a lot easier. One uncomfortable one though.

Manchester United

2-2: Wednesday, 17th April

One awful moment in the second half but he pulled off a number of decent saves.

Southampton

1-1: Saturday, 13th April

Tottenham Hotspur

2-3: Monday, 25th February

Best game for us by far. Reminded me of how well he always played against us.

Swansea City

1-0: Saturday, 2nd February

A bit like QPR he was unemployed for much of the time. One save played the ball back into danger but redeemed himself with his late cut out from a dangerous cross.

Queens Park Rangers

1-1: Saturday, 19th January

The ref touched the ball more than he did. He should have thawed out in time for the Arsenal match.

Manchester United

2-2: Saturday, 5th January

One good save. Otherwise largely unemployed.

Norwich City

2-1: Tuesday, 1st January

Had barely anything to to if truth be told.

Everton

1-2: Saturday, 22nd December

Partly culpable for the goal and his kicking wasn’t at its best today.

Chelsea

3-1: Saturday, 1st December

Some excellent saves to keep us in the game at key moments – though we’ll gloss over that throw out to Ramires!

Manchester City

0-0: Saturday, 3rd November

A couple of decent saves though there was one “heart in mouth” moment in the second half.

Wigan Athletic

1-2: Saturday, 27th October

A good save right at the death immediately followed up by maddeningly poor distribution. A microcosm of the game, and his season some might argue. Ultimately at fault for the second goal too.

Southampton

4-1: Saturday, 20th October

A pretty quiet day for the ‘keeper really. A bit sow off his line on one occasion prompting a few words between him and Reid but I can’t remember him having to make any real saves.

Arsenal

1-3: Saturday, 6th October

One or two of his parries were a little unconvincing and I thought he could have made more of an effort with the third.

Sunderland

1-1: Saturday, 22nd September

The goal apart, which gave him little chance, he didn’t have a save worthy of the name to make.

Norwich City

0-0: Saturday, 15th September

He kept us in the game with some of his saves, however his kicking was awful. At times he just couldn’t get the ball off the ground and that nearly cost us.

Fulham

3-0: Saturday, 1st September

After his aberration at Swansea last weekend it was good to see Jussi as solid as he has been for Bolton over the years. Little to do until the end including a very impressive double save.

Fulham

3-0: Saturday, 1st September

Kept his concentration throughout lengthy periods of inactivity so that when Fulham finally tested him properly in the last couple of minutes he was not found wanting.

Swansea City

0-3: Saturday, 25th August

Apart from the aforementioned mistake, he looked low on confidence; a shadow of the commanding goalkeeper he once was. He will be looking for a far improved performance next time out, especially with Stephen Henderson waiting in the wings.

Aston Villa

1-0: Saturday, 18th August

Had two saves to make and made them well. His main worry must have been the effect of the sun – which on Nordic skins can be a bit nasty when it’s that hot.

Austria Wien

1-3: Saturday, 7th July

(Replaced Henderson, 46)
