Phillips joined West Ham on loan in the winter transfer window for the remainder of the 2023/24 season. The deal included no option to make the move permanent.

He made his West Ham debut on 1 February in a 1?EUR"1 home draw with AFC Bournemouth. His error, passing the ball to Bournemouth?EUR(TM)s Dominic Solanke, led to the Cherries' opening goal, after just three minutes.

He featured on just 12 occasions - making only three starts - before being sent back to his parent club, having been injured for the final two games of the campaign.

Liverpool

Did not play.

Crystal Palace

2-5: Sunday, 21st April

(Replaced Alvarez, 74) Whatever he does now, he will be the face of the end of Moyes's era. A bad signing who never got going and cost the team points on multiple occasions.

Bayer Leverkusen

0-2: Thursday, 11th April

(Replaced Alvarez, 86) Introduced to see out time.

Wolverhampton Wanderers

Newcastle United

3-4: Saturday, 30th March

(Replaced Antonio, 68) Poor Kalvin. I don't blame the lad for the middle finger, he's not enjoying this and I doubt those fans are taking it as hard as him. He is not aligned with how we defend, and he never has been a sitter. He hunts for the ball, and we don't need that in the area we're playing him, it exposes gaps as he's going alone.

Newcastle United

3-4: Saturday, 30th March

(Replaced Antonio, 68) These mistakes are not unlucky anymore, he is a poor player and the definition of a flop.

SC Freiburg

5-0: Thursday, 14th March

(Replaced Alvarez, 86) Introduced to see out time.

Burnley

2-2: Sunday, 10th March

At fault for the first goal and inaccurate with his passing. Correctly brought off at half time by David Moyes.

Burnley

2-2: Sunday, 10th March

A couple cameos in recent matches made it look like he was adapting, but lacked any of that here. Doesn't seem to know where he's playing, misses simple passes and challenges, and generally isn't anywhere near the expected standard. Alvarez only made that more stark by doing every part of the role infinitely better.

SC Freiburg

0-1: Thursday, 7th March

(Replaced Ward-Prowse, 82) Looks suited to playing deeper and has made positive contributions off the bench in the last two games.

Nottingham Forest

0-2: Saturday, 17th February

Another poor performance from the England international who looks more and more like a flop each week.

Nottingham Forest

0-2: Saturday, 17th February

He was improved, and is clearly getting better with each passing day, but still not in the game enough, a little off the pace and unsure of himself. His passing got better, he pushed into attacks and his aggression in the press and in challenges is something the side miss, but it’s not coming together yet. The red card was ridiculous and not his fault, just poor refereeing.

Arsenal

0-6: Sunday, 11th February

(Replaced Alvarez, 45) He gets credit for getting a bit physical in the middle. It's about all he brought.

Arsenal

0-6: Sunday, 11th February

(Replaced Alvarez, 45) Long passing doesn’t work when our attacking players are marked out of the game. Looking more and more like a flop each game he plays.

Manchester United

0-3: Saturday, 3rd February

(Replaced Coufal, 71) Looks like a player coming back from an injury who has never played Premier League football before. The talent is there when he is given time, but he looks shocked by the pace of it all and is making mistakes under pressure.

Bournemouth

1-1: Thursday, 1st February

Not a good start, both within this game and as a whole at the club. Just couldn't get going, although it was nice to see him get physical into some challenges as the game went on. Will need grit to force his way back into form.
