The full back, who can also operate as a wing back began his career with Tottenham where he spent five years before moving to Southampton, initially on a half-season loan (January 2020) before the deal was made permanent for ??12million later that year (August 2020).
Of Jamaican descent, Walker-Peters made his senior England debut in a 2?EUR"1 victory against Switzerland in March 2022, winning a second cap shortly after.
Following Southampton's relegation from the Premier League in May 2025, Walker-Peters signed a three-year deal with West Ham United on a free transfer.

The defending on the penalty was poor, and he was worried by Dong on multiple occasions, but the forward play was very encouraging. He was great for the first goal, and then did the same thing to create a huge chance for Kante in the second half. Bowen being in the right place to score goals is possibly down to the right backs getting in better attacking positions.

A very neat and tidy player, his close control is clearly a strength at this level. He keeps the ball well and is safe under pressure, able to turn away and has good vision for a pass.

Looked a better threat today as he galloped down the wing much more than he was able to last season. He's neat in possession and has good close control, which allows the side to play off him.

Some nice touches and responsible defending, but his crossing into the box was poor and he often had the space for better. It was the kind of game that Wan-Bissaka would have enjoyed, with space often opened up for a galloping full back, and maybe Nuno should have given his fresh legs half an hour.

Defended well, with one vital intervention late on as Gnonto looked like he would race in on goal. His defending is usually decent, but he does lack dynamism in the attack. He looks like a player made for more intricate teams who use possession for quick short passes, and this side is built for bursts at pace that either take the player into the box or create space for crosses.

He's a very good defender, diligent and smart in his challenges, but stronger than his size would suggest. He lacks dynamism going forward, a much neater and tidier player than Wan-Bissaka, but not able to gallop past players like the man he's replacing currently.

Defended reasonably well and looked comfortable playing combinations with Ward-Prowse down the line. Isn't always as dynamic as some fans would like, but you can tell he's comfortable in possession and playing quick passing moves. Lovely cross for Soucek's goal.
