Highly-rated teenager Guilherme became West Ham United's first signing of Julen Lopetegui's reign when moving to England from Palmeiras in June 2024.

Born in Aracaju, he played at numerous soccer schools before joining Palmeiras in 2017. Guilherme signed his first professional contract with the club in June 2022.

He made his first team debut on 12 April 2023 as a substitute in a 4?EUR"2 home win over Tombense. On 24 April 2024, he scored his first goal for Palmeiras, in the 96th minute, securing a 3?EUR"2 away win over Independiente del Valle.

A technical midfielder with good on-field decision making Guilherme is renowned for his pace, clocking a top speed of 36.4km/h in the 2022 Copa do Brasil Sub-17 final against Vasco da Gama.

He lists Lionel Messi and Rivaldo as inspirations to him. On 11 October 2023, he was named by The Guardian as one of the best players born in 2006.

Guilherme left West Ham four days into the 2026 winter transfer window, joining Portugal's Sporting for a fee in the region of ??17.5million.
