Sam Baldock
BedfordPosition: Striker
Born: 15th Mar 1989 (Bedford)
Signed: 26th Aug 2011 (£2,000,000)
Contract: 4 years + 1 year option
Previous Club: MK Dons

'Little Sam' was signed by 'Big Sam' from League One MK Dons on the back of a tremendous start to the 2011/12 campaign, in which he scored six goals in his club's opening six games of the season including a hat-trick against Chesterfield, a match watched by Allardyce.
The first ever player to come through MK Dons' youth system, Baldock looked like joining Peterborough in a ??1.2million switch earlier in the summer after the fee was accepted. However he rejected the move in order to remain at Stadium:MK.
But just a matter of weeks later he was snapped up by Sam Allardyce, who paid ??2million + clauses to land the youngster despite interest from fellow Championship clubs Southampton and Reading.

Hull City
2-1: Saturday, 28th April(Replaced Cole, 52)
Apart from nearly catching out the ‘keeper he failed to get into the match.
Reading
2-4: Saturday, 31st March(Replaced Taylor)
Ran around a lot to little effect.
Leeds United
1-1: Saturday, 17th MarchDid not play.
Doncaster Rovers
1-1: Saturday, 10th March(Replaced Vaz Te, 25)
Looked like a fish out of water playing deep and didn’t get close enough to Cole late on.
Doncaster Rovers
1-1: Saturday, 10th March(Replaced Vaz Te, 25)
Came on for the injured Vaz Te and was another played forced into an unfavourable position.
Watford
1-1: Wednesday, 7th March(Replaced Maynard, 62)
Much the same as Maynard, although he at least looked a little livelier. Squandered the one good chance he had when put through by fellow sub Vaz Te.
Cardiff City
2-0: Sunday, 4th MarchDid not play.
Crystal Palace
0-0: Saturday, 25th February(Replaced Maynard, 73)
Added much-needed movement and pace to the attack and on another day might have had a couple.

Nottingham Forest
2-1: Saturday, 21st JanuaryPut in a tireless shift but received very little service from the midfield. Had one good chance well saved and had to play out of position on the left in the second half, which doesn’t suit his game.
Portsmouth
1-0: Saturday, 14th JanuaryDid not play.
Derby County
1-2: Saturday, 31st December(Replaced Faubert, 68) No impression on the match. Another who looked rusty.
Derby County
3-1: Saturday, 26th NovemberWas looking good until his untimely injury. Fingers crossed it’s not too serious.
Coventry City
2-1: Saturday, 19th NovemberNot in the game much in the first half which, either by instruction or on his own initiative, he spent playing almost alongside McCartney. Improved a bit when playing up front.
Hull City
2-0: Saturday, 5th NovemberTook the goal well but one instance in the second half where he chased back fully 70 yards to hold up a break until McCartney got back to clear summed up his game today.
Blackpool
4-0: Saturday, 15th OctoberMan of the match. Not just for his goals, well-taken though they were, but also for his general workrate. Did a lot of off the ball running and we noted him making a couple of good tackles on the edge of our box.
Crystal Palace
2-2: Saturday, 1st October(Replaced Cole, 68) Just beginning to find his feet at this level. Some lively runs as we played a little more to his strengths in the last quarter of the game than we have seen in other matches since his arrival.
Ipswich Town
0-1: Tuesday, 27th SeptemberWhen he was supposed to be up front he failed to get close enough to profit from those balls that Cole won on the air. When moved back into midfield he disappeared completely.
Peterborough
1-0: Saturday, 24th SeptemberDid not play.
