The highly-rated Irish goalkeeper began his career with Aston Villa but joined Burnley on a free transfer in May 2007 having failed to make a single appearance for the Premier League club.
Loan spells at York, Weymouth, Wycombe, Aldershot and Yeovil followed before he was snapped up by Portsmouth in the summer of 2011 - before going on to make 27 apperances for the financially-stricken club.
West Ham were just one of a string of clubs who had been running the rule over Henderson before snapping him up on an 'emergency loan' in March 2012, with view to making the deal permanent at the end of the 2011/12 season.
