An established England international, Bridge's career hit the buffers following his multi-million pound move from Chelsea to ambitious Manchester City.

Given the opportunity to play regular first team football once again (and the small matter of an astonishing ??90,000 p/w), Bridge jumped at the chance to move to east London.

The fact that he hates Chelsea captain John Terry is unlikely to do him any harm at all either.

Sunderland

0-3: Sunday, 22nd May

Last seen an hour after the final whistle still fiddling with his iPhone. Some good crossfield passes but highly culpable for the first goal.

Blackburn Rovers

1-1: Saturday, 7th May

No idea where he was for their goal. Got better but the damage had been done.

Chelsea

0-3: Saturday, 23rd April

Two important defensive interventions. Looked good going forward.

Aston Villa

1-2: Saturday, 16th April

Gave the very average Downing far too much respect.

Bolton Wanderers

0-3: Saturday, 9th April

Not a bad game. He can attack and did what he could defensively.

Manchester United

2-4: Saturday, 2nd April

Tottenham Hotspur

0-0: Saturday, 19th March

Superb. So that’s how he got to be an international. So good Lennon kept swapping with Bale in an attempt to get some change out of the match. MOTM – just.

Stoke City

1-2: Sunday, 13th March

Sterted poorly against Pennant for the second week in a row but improved.

Stoke City

3-0: Saturday, 5th March

Probably his best game for us – going some way to banish the memory of that nightmare debut.

Liverpool

3-1: Sunday, 27th February

Not quite there in the first half but improved as the game wore on in the second.

Burnley

5-1: Monday, 21st February

Comments to follow.

West Bromwich Albion

3-3: Saturday, 12th February

Possibly the lest ineffective defender on the day - and still found time to get forward in the second half.

Birmingham City

0-1: Sunday, 6th February

Another showing a bit of an improvement. That's what a quiet night in will do for you.

Blackpool

3-1: Wednesday, 2nd February

His best performance since seeing the light and moving to east London. Held the left side well even when doubled-up against.

Nottingham Forest

3-2: Sunday, 30th January

Did not play.

Birmingham City

1-3: Wednesday, 26th January
