West Ham effectively replaced the departing Nathan Trott with the former Sheffield United stopper, who was given a free transfer upon the Blades' relegation at the end of the 2023/24 season.
The Newcastle-supporting Foderingham represented England at Under 16, Under 17 and Under 19 level before going on to represent Fulham, from whom he joined Crystal Palace.
Although he failed to make a senior start for any of his first two clubs it was on loan at Swinson that he began to make his name.
And a permanent move to The County Ground in 2012 led to more than 150 first team appearances, before Foderginham was snapped up by Scottish Premier League side Rangers.
The stopper made another century of appearances in Scotland before returning to England where he joined Sheffield United, with whom he secured relegation in 2022/23.
However his first season back in the top flight did not go as planned and Foderingham was granted a free transfer at the end of the campaign, upon which he was picked up by West Ham to become the club's third choice 'keeper.
