Cole shines in Barnet romp

Filed: Monday, 7th August 2000
By: Matthew O'Greel

Joe Cole put on a magical one man show at Barnet tonight to help the Hammers to yet another pre-season victory.

The Hammers won 4-3 thanks to a late winner from Cole, after Barnet had clawed their way back into the game by drawing level at 3-3, this after finding themselves 3-1 down at the half time interval.

However it was Cole's night - the boy wonder showed all his tricks and skill tonight plus a new found resilience in a performance that even drew applause from the home fans.

The Hammers other goals came from Omar Riza, Gavin McCann and Tyrell Forbes.
