Young Hammers Oliver Lee and Cristian Montano have been sent out on loan on the eve of the new Championship season.

Lee, son of former Hammer Rob has joined neighbours Dagenham & Redbridge for a month whilst Montano, one of only two players to feature in all seven of West Ham's first team pre-season fixtures has moved to Notts County for the same length of time.

19-year-old Lee, who made six appearances during a two-month loan spell at Victoria Road last season has been drafted in by Daggers boss John Still in order to cover for a string of short term injuries.

Meanwhile Montano, also 19, has joined former Hammer Martin Allen at League One County. Allen told nottscountyfc.co.uk: "I'm pleased Cristian is joining us; he'll go straight into our squad for Saturday. It's a one-month loan with a view to extending it at a later stage."

A third Academy graduate, Jordan Spence, joined Bristol City on a season-long loan earlier this week.

The average age of players signed by Sam Allardyce since joining West Ham is 29.
