There were plenty of positive comments for Sam Allardyce's side from the home fanbase last night...
"West Ham are a Premier League side playing in the wrong league - And that extra class showed tonight. People can laugh about Allardyce and the concept of 'football', but West Ham tonight were the Championship's 'Barcelona of Europe' in the second half. Possession, possession, possession. Work the ball side to side until they worked the space. West Ham came and did a thoroughly professional job in killing the game at 2-0/3-0 - and shouldn't be in this league."- AshdownWFC
"West Ham totally outclassed our team and we could do nothing about it . All we can do is hope that over time our players and manager will improve and maybe some more players brought into the team."

"Overall it was men against boys; West Ham looked like they never got out of second gear. I am a bit gutted I didn’t chuck a few quid on my prediction as I did call a 4-0 WHU win before the game. We harried and chased but we could still be there now and wouldn’t score. "

"Our season wont be determined by how we do against the likes of West Ham, anything we get out of them is a bonus. Having said that I can't help but feel a little disappointed after last night's game - the 0-4 scoreline isn't a fair reflection. First half, I thought we played pretty well in places and if anything were the better side at times, but we gave away two soft goals. Second half they tried to take the sting out of the game by getting the ball down, passing it about and spreading the play. Then as we started to build up a head of steam we gave away another soft goal and that was game. When we switched to three up front and tiredness started to show, West Ham finally started to play a bit and look like a Premier League side. "

"I believe Dyche got the formation wrong and the bench. All night West Ham's midfield were in control. The pressure was on West Ham winning not us losing. We showed them too much respect. Late in the second half Dyche tried to change the formation but it was too little too late. The officials were a joke; at one point the referee apologised to Nolan for awarding a free kick to Watford. They were definitely star struck, we were never going to win any of the decisions."

"This was always going to be a one sided affair. The transfer window is still open and some of West Ham's players may leave before it slams shut, subsequently weakening their team but until then we played what was until a few weeks ago a Premier League outfit. As someone else said, a single West Ham player is paid the equivalent of our entire wage budget. Given this huge discrepancy, along with the fact that we are still bedding in new players and using products of our own Academy, I thought for a good portion of the match we put up a pretty good display."

"It was just one of those nights. Big Sam has a wealth of experience and a good team. He may lose some but will be able to replace them. Done and dusted."

"That is possibly the worst game I have seen Watford play since the Crystal Palace home game towards the end of two seasons ago. Against a team like West Ham, who we know will be a threat from set pieces, it was important to get a good start and not give anything away. But guess what, we did! Second half, well I wish I wasn't there! We had no clear chances all night at all and were totally outplayed football-wise by a Same Alladyce team. That is saying something!"

"You know times are bad when even Fat Sam's mob give you a hiding. And at home too. West Ham are a joke club who should be beaten out of sight by near enough everyone, they are rubbish and simply gave up in the Premier League last season, yet Watford succombed without a fight. Watford are on a one-way ticket to the conference at this rate and wouldn't look out of place there."

"Scott Parker must be leaving soon, he didn't celebrate any of their first three goals at all and was always back behind the halfway line waiting for play to resume."
