Sakho and Valencia return for Baggies trip

Sam Allardyce could have his first choice strike force back for tomorrow night's trip to The Hawthorns.

Diafra Sakho and Enner Valencia have proved a huge success since arriving in England during the summer transfer window, although both have missed the last two games against Everton and Newcastle.

However the duo are both in the frame to return when Allardyce and his squad travel to the Midlands for the clash with struggling West Bromwich Albion.

Despite rumours to the contrary, Sakho - who has missed three of West Ham's last four games - was close to being fit enough to take part in Saturday's defeat of Newcastle.

However following a late fitness test at the Boleyn Ground on Saturday morning ahead of the Newcastle meeting, it was decided to give him extra recovery period.

Meanwhile Valencia, who sustained a knock during training a fortnight ago is also poised to make his comeback having trained at Chadwell Heath with the rest of the squad this morning.

Alex Song - who, like Valencia, picked up a knock in training recently - is also close to regaining full fitness, although the Cameroon midfielder may have to wait for the visit of Swansea this weekend before considering a return to action.

However Allardyce's squad is further boosted by the return of Winston Reid, who missed Saturday's win over Newcastle through suspension having collected five bookings this season.
