The opposition view... Swansea City

The game itself could have gone either way, but Swansea fans were reasonably pleased with a point in yesterday's clash with West Ham at the Liberty Stadium...

"We could have won it and lost it but drew, which was a fair result. If I was a West Ham fan I'd be pretty gutted they didn't leave with all three points. A great game and difficult to figure who bossed what, but at the end of the game we were hanging on as West Ham came right back at us after we'd looked back in control for a while. Ebb and flow en masse! Best game I've seen in a while involving the Swans and hats off to a very good West Ham for really giving it a go."

"I'm content with the point today. We didn't play badly, but could have come away with nothing. There were positives in the performances but I thought that we ran out of ideas after about 55 minutes, especially out wide. The substitutions seemed to work well, though they may have cost us something in defence. We looked very shaky for ten of the last fifteen minutes but recovered momentum near the end. Pity that it seems Bafe's effort will go down as an OG."

"West Ham were pretty much anti-football until the last ten minutes. They got a once-in-a-blue-moon goal and defended very well. We still missed three better chances than they created all game. Fabianski's only two out-of-the-absolutely-ordinary saves were the one after he fumbled a rubbish free kick that should never have got through the wall, and the one that he fumbled in the first place because it unexpectedly got through the wall. We are an average PL team (which for us is exceptional) capable of moments of sublime play. That's why we are in a slightly above average table position."

"I enjoyed that game thoroughly. Lots of attacking intent from us - and from them, to be fair. Solid in defence although we allowed too many balls to come across - full back cover/starters needed for me in this window. I thought Fede coped well with Carroll overall - his goal was excellent and not too much any defence could do about that, albeit that we had the chance to clear just before he gathered it for the second time. All in all, a good game, could have gone either way and a draw was probably fair. And we pass 30 points - can't remember doing that before February previously (did we in the Cup win season?) Both teams look nailed on for a top 10 finish to me."

"I dislike Andy Carroll intensely. His constant niggling at the ref, his constant mouthing to the opposition, his constant fouling off the ball. I don`t even think he is a particularly good footballer. That said it hurts me to admit that his goal against us was as good if not better than anything scored at the Liberty this season. Yes, he should have been closed down earlier, but that finish was superb. The goal celebration was odious, however. No matter how much you are being goaded by the crowd, you are a highly paid professional. Get on with it. What a difference to Gomis`s goal celebration and the waving of the French tricolor. That was class. Something that Andy Carroll is conspicuously short of."

"I can't say I've got a problem with Andy Carroll's celebration. The crowd gave him stick and he gave it back. I can't take people seriously if they think they can goad him with impunity but complain when he gives a bit back."

"Phew! I'll take that point. That was a game we looked like losing, especially up to the 62nd minute when Jenkinson was causing havoc for them down our left flank. Then Monk made a great double substitution with Emnes and Barrow replacing the ineffective Routledge and Dyer. So glad Bafe got a goal - would have done his confidence good. Special mention for the much maligned Neil Taylor who saved us at the end from at least another two goals against. A draw was a fair result in the end because West Ham are a good side. 30 points achieved - excellent."

"If Carroll hadn't fucked up an open goal today we would have lost! We surrendered the initiative again after scoring and West Ham must be wondering how the fuck they didn't win. Fabianski was immense in that second half onslaught, made four top draw saves as we let them attack at will."

"I felt for most of the game we played to West Ham's strengths and though we did have chances of our own, felt a point was lucky. Play like that against Chelsea, and they'll batter us. Our passing game was certainly not evident today. Too lateral, too static, and no pace whatsoever. Fair play to West Ham; they were well organised, very dedicated (some awesome blocks) and should have won it I feel."

"It was obvious the way that West Ham sat back that they were playing to hold the three points. Even so, when they attacked they looked far more dangerous than we did and it took a few good saves from Fab to keep us in it. I can't remember their 'keeper being worked like that. Our subs did change things but it would take a complete idiot to see that Dyer and Routledge weren't producing, so it wasn't exactly a stroke of genius - more like something from the Academy of the Blindingly Obvious. But credit Monk for doing it."
