Winston Reid linked with Tottenham switch

Speculation tonight is linking Winston Reid with a possible move across town to Tottenham.

The central defender, who becomes a free agent at the end of the season claimed earlier this week that he was yet to make a decision about his long-term future.

However tonight fresh rumours have emerged (Daily Mail) linking Reid with a move to White Hart Lane, with Spurs said to be considering a move for the 26-year-old at the end of the season.

Whilst Arsenal have also been been sniffing around with view to a January transfer, Sam Allardyce recently revealed that he would not consider selling the defender unless the bid was of the 'offer you cannot refuse' variety.

As recently revealed here on KUMB, Reid is keen to remain in the capital - whether that be with West Ham or another Premier League club - although he conceded that refusing to clarify his position would lead to a great deal media attention and speculation.

"It's a busy period and the media will write all sorts of stuff," he told Fanbookz. "The bottom line is I haven't decided anything yet and I'm focused on getting West Ham as high up the league as possible."

Co-Chairman David Sullivan, speaking in an interview last month also ruled out the possibility of any first team players leaving the Boleyn during the January transfer window,

"There is not any price we would sell any players for," he insisted. "First team players will not be sold. We are happy where we are, we don't want to unsettle the team, we are short of numbers with the Africa Cup of Nations and I can't imagine any circumstances where we would sell a player in January."
