Jarvis joins Norwich in last-gasp switch

Out-of-favour winger Matt Jarvis has completed a season-long move to Premier League newcomers Norwich City.

Slaven Bilic finally managed to offload the unwanted wide man following brief negotiations with the Canaries minutes before the transfer window closed earlier this evening.

Jarvis joined West Ham in a move eventually worth in the region of £10million if all clauses were to be triggered three years ago this month and had made 90 appearances in a claret and blue shirt.

However he has been deemed surplus to requirements for some considerable time and accepted the opportunity to gain some first team football at Carrow Road.

In other transfer news, West Ham's last-ditch attempt bid to sign Tottenham's Emmanuel Adebayor on a free transfer failed to materialise as the striker failed to agree terms with his current club over the annulment of his current contract.

The 31-year-old insisted that Tottenham pay up the final year of his contract in full - terms that Spurs' Chairman Daniel Levy was not prepared to accede to.

As a result of the impasse, the north London club are stuck with a player they have no intention of utilising until next January, at the very earliest.
