West Ham United's on-loan midfielder is set to make his return to action next Wednesday in a specially-arranged friendly.

Manager Slaven Bilic confirmed this morning during his pre-match press conference that Song will feature in the game at the Boleyn Ground, which is scheduled to take place next Wednesday, 11th November.

The 28-year-old hasn't played a competitive fixture since the end of last season and has been receiving treatment for a foot injury.

Despite having initially targeted the home game with Chelsea a fortnight ago as his return date, he will now have to wait until the trip to Tottenham on Sunday, 22nd November - assuming he suffers no setbacks following next week's friendly.

"Song started training before Watford and he's been with us for one week now," confirmed Bilic.

"He's okay, there are no problem whatsoever. He's injury-free and now it's a matter of fitness and match-fitness. We have a friendly game on Wednesday which he will play in and hopefully he's going to be fit soon."
