Manuel Pellegrini believes that it was important his side avoided defeat today - even though they were lucky to avoid defeat at the Boleyn Ground this afternoon.

Sergio Aguero's 81st minute leveller was enough to earn the visitors a point despite them trailing twice in this afternoon's top six clash.
