West Ham Ladies celebrated their first and final ever appearance at the Boleyn Ground last night with a 1-0 win over neighbours Tottenham.

The only goal of the game was score by Hammers captain and Woman of the Match Katie Bottom - who was also celebrating her birthday - from the penalty spot, as the Ladies emulated the mens' result from a week earlier.

A healthy crown of just over 1,700 - which exceeded the 1,695 attendance figure League Two mens team Dagenham & Redbridge attracted for their 0-0 draw with Carlisle a few miles up the A13 - congregated in the West Stand Lower to watch the Hammers beat Spurs.

"The support tonight was overwhelming!", said Chelsea Hinz, one of West Ham's winning team.

Whilst goalscorer Bottom, speaking via Twitter added: ""Wished I could keep up with every single message tonight and thank you all individually! West Ham fans well and truly are the greatest!"
