Hendrie linked with Championship move

West Ham United's out-of-favour full back Stephen Hendrie has been linked with a season-long loan move to Championship side Blackburn Rovers.

Hendrie, who failed to make a single first team appearance for the Hammers last season is being targeted by Rovers, who are keen to boost their squad ahead of the 2016/17 campaign.

And the 21-year-old Scottish full back, whose only first team appearances last term came during a brief loan spell at Roots Hall with Southend United is being chased by Blackburn who most recently finished 15th in the Championship.

West Ham signed the Scottish defender on a pre-contract agreement from Hamilton Academicals in January 2015, with Hendrie completing his move to London at the end of that season.




* In other transfer news, relegated Newcastle United are said to remain keen on signing West Ham's teenage star Reece Oxford on loan.

The Magpies are understood to have contacted West Ham last week with view to signing the England under 19 international on loan for the duration of season, according to various reports.

* West Ham United are reported to be preparing one final bid to lure Alexandre Lacazette to England.

Despite earlier reports suggesting that the Lyon striker harbours reservations regarding a move to London, the Hammers are said to be considering one final record-breaking bid, in the region of ?37million, to persuade Lyon to part with their highly-rated goalscorer.
