Payet happy at West Ham, says agent

Dimitri Payet's agent has scotched rumours that his client is set to join Real Madrid by insisting he is happy at West Ham.

Jacques-Olivier Auguste, who represents Payet, revealed this morning that Payet had not even considered leaving West Ham, whom he joined a year ago this month.

And he laughed off speculative reports linking the 29-year-old with a move to Spanish giants Real, insisting that Payet had no intention of leaving West Ham - as things stand.

"He has a good contract at West Ham," said Auguste. "Dimitri is happy in London. In football you never know [what might happen], but only West Ham know what price they might decide to sell at."

Payet, who has wowed audiences this summer with his performances at Euro 16 joined West Ham for just £10.7million last summer in a deal that, in retrospect, has to be considered as one of the deals of the decade.

The mercurial French international will miss West Ham's pre-season tour of the US but can next be seen in action when France take on Inceland in the quarter finals of Euro 16 this weekend (Sunday).
