The managerial merry-go-round is expected to go into overdrive soon, with over 30 per cent of all bosses sacked in Premier League history being dismissed in November and December.

According to research from bettingexpert, 30.2% of all sackings since the Premier League’s inception have taken place in the last two months of the calendar year, meaning there’ll be a few current bosses looking over their shoulder until 2016 is out.

46 out of the 152 managers dismissed mid-season have been given the sack in time for Christmas, with 23 falling in both November and December – the joint highest months.

Sunderland boss David Moyes is the bookmakers’ favourite to be the next Premier League gaffer to lose his job, with the Scot at 11/8 in the betting. The Black Cats have form for dismissing bosses around this time of year, with Steve Bruce being removed in November 2011, and Roy Keane leaving in December 2008.

Meanwhile West Ham United's Slaven Bilic is currently considered sixth favourite - behind Moyes, Bob Bradley, Walter Mazzarri, Alan Pardew and Mike Phelan - to be the next Premier League manager to bite the dust at 12/1.

There have yet to be any managers lose their jobs this month, and it’ll need something spectacular for a record haul to be dismissed. Five Premier League bosses were given their P45s during November 1994, with Ossie Ardiles (Tottenham), Mike Walker (Everton), Ron Atkinson (Aston Villa), Gerry Francis (QPR) and Brian Little (Leicester) all given their marching orders.

Researchh coordinator bettingexpert’s Henrik Lykkesteen said: "With the season a couple of months in and plenty of time for damage to be done, November and December are traditionally the times chairman are at their twitchiest.

"A change at the top in time for the January transfer window can help a team out of trouble, with plenty of time for the new boss to save a side’s season.

"Any managers given the boot this month won’t have to worry too much – there should be a few more vacancies opening up in the Premier League soon!"
