David Gold will miss tonight's FA Cup clash with Manchester City after being admitted to hospital.

The news was revealed tonight via twitter by fellow Board member Karren Brady, who issued a message wishing the octogenarian well.

"On behalf of everyone here at WHU, supporters, players and staff, get well soon and hope you're out of hospital for the next match," she wrote, shortly after 5pm tonight.

The reason for Gold's admission is yet to be revealed, however three years ago this month he spent time in hospital having contracted pneumonia.

And two years prior to that he was diagnosed with cholangitis, an infection of the common bile duct, and septicaemia, which also saw him admitted to hospital.

The best wishes of everyone at KUMB.com go out to DG.
