No more than an hour after it was claimed Marseille have pulled out of the race to sign Dimitri Payet, news of a fresh bid has emerged...

Whilst Sky Sports' journalist Kaveh Solhekol was busy shring the news that L'OM have declared they are no longer interested in signing Payet during the January transfer window, L'Equipe have countered that information by insisting a new offer has been made.

According to the French source, Marseille have today (Friday) lodged a third bid for the 29-year-old, said to be worth around €30million - considerably higher than their previous offer but still some way short of West Ham's £35million valuation.

And the Ligue 1 club - who have already invested heavily elsewhere during the current transfer window - are reported to have announced that they will enter no further negotiations with West Ham regarding the sale of Payet.

Two previous offers - said to be in the region of £18m and £20m - have both been rejected byu West Ham. Meanwhile Payet, who has indicated that he no longer wishes to play for West Ham continues to train with the Academy staff at Chadwell Heath.
