Robert Snodgrass has joined Aston Villa on a season-long loan - just six months after moving from Hull in a ?10million deal.

Villa are expected to pay just ?1.5million to 'hire' the Scottish international for the duration fo the 2017/18 campaign, which represents a massive loss on a player who has thus far made just 15 appearances for the Hammers.

Whilst the deal represents a major loss for West Ham, one person delighted with the move is Snodgrass himself - who hit out at Slaven Bilic in his first interview.

"I went to West Ham and I had a manager that played me out of position," he moaned. "To be honest with you it was very tough to take.

"Sometimes , with the way you've been brought up, you try to just put your heart on your sleeve and play anywhere. To get the best out of any player you need to play him in his best position, it's as simple as that."
