Transfer update: latest

West Ham are being linked with a transfer deadline move for Lorient forward Abdul Majeed Waris.

The Ghana international, who averages around one goal in every three games has spent the last two years in France following a move from Trabzonspor in 2015.

Fellow Premier League side Brighton are also said to be considering a bid for the ?10million-rated Waris, who is also reported to be interestic Scottish champions Celtic.

* The Scottish Sun claims that West Ham are keeping tabs on young Celtic star Anthony Ralston (see above).

18-year-old Ralston recently broke through to the Bhoys first team, since when he is said to have been watched on several occasions by Hammers scouts. The full back has made four starts for Celtic since being introduced to the first team by manager Brendan Rodgers.

* West Ham have opened talks with French amatuer clubs AS Minguettes regarding the transfer of 17-year-old striker Alexadre Mlinde, say Foot Mercato.

The teenager has scored nearly 60 goals in the last two seasons at local level, leading to several pro clubs expressing an interest.

* The West Ham website's Mediawatch - no relation to KUMB's long(er)-running daily news update of the same name - report that Talksport are linking the club with a late bid for Benfica's Raul Jimenez.

West Ham were close to landing the forward two years ago, but he was widely reported to have failed to attend a medical - leading to West Ham aborting the deal.

* Inter's attempt to swap United's Italian international Angelo Ogbonna for Marcelo Brozovic have failed after the 29-year-old said he had no intention of leaving West Ham.

The Milanese wanted to introduce Ogbonna, who recently signed a new contract with the Hammers, having seen attempts to sign Eliaquim Mangala and Shkodran Mustafi fall by the wayside but will have to continue their search elsewhere.
