Central defender Reece Burke is close to completing a move to Hull City, having snubbed an offer from fellow Championship side Derby County.

Burke, who has spent the last two seasons on loan at Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers respectively is understood to have been told that he is surplus to requirements at West Ham.

Last week it looked as if Derby County, now managed by former Hammer Frank Lampard were going to provide Burke's next port of call - before talks between the two parties fell through.

And following the last-minute intervention of the Humberside club, it appears as if the 21-year-old defender is now set to end up on Humberside rather than the Midlands.

Derby were willing to pay around £1.5million for Burke, who made his West Ham debut in the now-infamous 5-0 FA Cup third round defeat at Nottingham Forest in January 2014. In total he has made 14 appearances for the Hammers.

* In other transfer news, it has been claimed that West Ham are willing to part company with three first team stars.

According to Sky Sports this afternoon, Michail Antonio, Pedro Obiang and Senegal's World Cup star Cheikhou Kouyate have all been made available for sale. The latter is said to be available for around £10million.
