No problem with Perez, says Pellegrini

Manuel Pellegrini has dismissed reports of a bust-up with Lucas Perez.

Sky Sports commentators suggested midway through the second half of today's 3-1 win at Everton that Perez had refused to warm-up when asked to prepare.

However Pellegrini - who is celebrating his 65th birthday today - laughed off those suggestions, claiming that Perez had refrained from warming up following a mix-up between the substitutes.

"Maybe it looks like he refused to come on but when Marko was injured we asked Lucas to warm up. Then, when I saw he was sitting on the bench, as he had finished, and Antonio was working and ready, that's why I changed [it].

"Lucas would've had to start warming up again but we needed to make the change immediately. Antonio was ready but Lucas had to warm up a little more."

Arnautovic limped off with just over an hour played in today's 3-1 win and later revealed that he had sustained a knock to his knee.
