West Ham United's dallying over a new contract for Declan Rice has alerted several Premier League rivals, according to latest reports.

The Daily Mail claim that Tottenham, for one, have been keeping a close eye on the teenager's situation as he continues to seek a contract extension from West Ham, who are currently refusing to meet his agent's demands.

Several of the north London club's scouts are said to have been spotted at some of West Ham's recent fixtures, with the 19-year-old at the centre of their interest.

Rice signed a three-and-a-half year contract with West Ham back in March 2017 although there has been some confusion with regards to the length of his current contract, with some sources suggesting he would be available on a free transfer as early as next summer.

The Irish international has made 11 appearances for West Ham's first team so far this season, with eight of those coming in the Premier League.

He is understood to be seeking a wage worth in the region of £35,000 per week - more than ten times his current salary. West Ham have so far been unwilling to bow to the player's demands.
