Turkish sports daily Fanatik claim that Superlig side Galatasaray are hoping to sign Andy Carroll during the January transfer window.

The Istanbul-based tabloid reported on Wednesday that West Ham have reached an initial agreement with Gala over the sale of Carroll, who has barely featured for West Ham this season.

And it was added that the player had already entered negotiations with the club, who currently play their home matches at the 52,000-capacity Turk Telekom Stadium.

The 29-year-old former England international is out of contract with West Ham at the end of the season, although the club retain the option to extend Carroll's stay by a further two years (to 2021).

Galatasary are currently fifth in the Superlig, eight points behind current league leaders İstanbul Basaksehir and already feature one former Hammer, Sofiane Feghouli in their ranks.

Carroll has made just three appearances - all as a substitute - for West Ham so far during the current campaign, having missed much of the opening half of the season through injury.
