Manuel Pellegrini has been handed a major boost ahead of Saturday's Premier League opener against Manchester City after it was confirmed that first choice goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski is fit to play.

The Polish international, who was named as KUMB's Player of the Year last season was a doubt for the opening game of the 2019/20 Premier League campaign after sustaining a thigh injury ahead of the pre-season clash with Hertha Berlin.

However according to the manager, speaking on Thursday lunchtime during his pre-match press conference, the 34-year-old stopper has completely recovered.

However the news is not so good for midfielder and club captain Mark Noble, who has been ruled out of the weekend's clash at Stratford through injury.

West Ham face Manchester City at the London Olympic Stadium on Saturday lunchtime; the match is scheduled to kick off at 12.30pm.
